Default Dropped 8mm socket inside Thermostat Hose

It was a freak accident, call me idiot if that makes you happy but i dropped 8mm deep socket into this hose under thermostat which connects to engine oil cooler

I need to get my baby smogged asap and thermostat was the last one in the list, i replaced it and socket got stuck and then fall right into the hose :-(

I want to know, what is the worse which can happen ??
Can I drive it and get it smogged and remove this socket in few days ??

Can i use a magnet ? if so which kind ??
Any help appreciated

Can't you just disconnect that hose at each end and retrieve the socket. Sure you will have to replace some coolant. Can you get a small but strong magnet and tie to a string to fish out the socket with?

A deep socket couldn't have made a 90 degree turn. Can't you fish it out with a bent coat hanger, long needle nose pliers, hemostats, etc.?

I have an old 'telescoping' magnet that I cut the magnet tip from. I soldered a section of #12 gauge copper wire so it will bend anywhere I need it to.

Just an idea.

What if you got a strong magnet and held it against the pipe and try to get the socket to follow it up to the top so you can grab it.

I know you have solved the extraction but this is a very cheap tool I have used for decades.
