So I learned how to run the scan off the info stalk today and was surprised to see I have 2 dtc codes showing. Car is running great with no warning lights or anything. First was dtc D900 and the 2nd is dtcE510. Can anyone explain what these mean and/or why they may be present? No issues with the car at all but if there is something that needs repaired I would rather do it now before anything snowballs. Thanks in advance for your reply.

 

04SPORT, I have done a lot with the diagnostics like you just did. First off, every car that I have seen has had these codes. So, do not worry. This is nothing abnormal. The D900 converts over to U1900. This means that your car at some point has suffered a CAN Bus fault. This can be from any work that was done on the car involving pretty much any computer in the car. Again, this is probably a code that got set in the car during manufacturing and/or transporting to the US. So, I wouldn't worry about it.

As for E510, that is DTC U2510. U2510 means that at some point there was a mismatch between what the PATS computer has as acceptable keys and what was actually used. This is most likely set at the factory when they are doing the initial setup of the car. So, I would not worry about this.

If those are the only 2 codes that you have in your instrument cluster, then I would keep driving the car and keep the smile on my face.
