Anyone have a business they recommend for ECM/ECU bench test and repair?

Here is a list to research for costs: You can email them. At one time or another members have used them.

Thanks for the response.

I contacted all 3 of these companies except aesmodules.com, they had terrible reviews. All 3 of them responded that they do not work on this module.

Any other suggestions? Anyone ever have a X-Type ECU worked on?

Want to confirm this ECU is good or not. Last ditch effort before giving up on this vehicle as I do not want to rebuild/replace the transmission. Was getting cruise control not available, gear box faults, failure to start, didn't want to physically shift into drive. Eventually the only thing is got was gearbox fault and didn't want to shift when driving. Shifting gears it would go to neutral. We have a good replacement TCM, but are reluctant to replace until we get the ECU checked out/repaired.

I also sent messages to 3 different businesses on EBAY with good reviews and got no response. Anyone work on X-Types?

Every time I thought I had a bad ECU, it ended up being the battery. Low voltage and corrosion around the terminals/cables.

I did however replace a bad TCM after finding corrosion around the connector and inside the unit itself. I've also had the ABS module rebuilt due to failure, but not an ECU.

Have you tried popping it open and visually inspecting it?

I concur, make sure the battery handles the load and check the ground connections in the engine bay, especially the one near the strut tower for the ECU.
