Engine braking -> clutch -> engine stalls
My X-type (3.0, 2002, 110K) has two problems
- when lifting off gas, the speed decreases more it used to. It kinda sharply "bows". Ok, it is not that bad my forehead is touching windshield, but more like inconvenient rocking.
- when engine braking some seconds and then hitting clutch, it practically has no idle and engine finally dies. Very inconvenient if the speed still is 20mph or more and you need to turn. Of course, lifting the clutch will switch on the engine again.
The codes: C1175 (Left Rear Wheel ABS circuit)
Done so far:
- Spark plugs changed
- left rear wheel speed and cable changed
- a year ago I checked the reluctor ring, it was fine back then...
Someone suggested:
- alternator or some other device drawing too much energy causing this
- a mysterious switch somewhere is too slow to wake up the fuel feed
Does anyone know what to look for? Is it worth checking the reluctor ring - would it solve this issue?
