jbrewer, take the car to a local auto parts store and ask to borrow their code reader. You will need to plug the car into the OBD-ii port located under the steering column. Note the code and write it down. Come back here and post what code(s) you got. From there we can lead you to a list of possible problems and solutions.

It is hard to say if your problem is related to the battery or not. So, get the code read and we will take it from there.
