Default engine rattling

Hi I previously posted and then lost my phone and as I've been working away unable to reply so here is my problem again..

3.0 petrol sport
I was driving along fine then the car started rattling loudly almost as if something had come loose and was rattling.
I started the next morning no noise so drove around 25 miles then rattling come back so got home. Now its horrendous and loud when I drive it sounds like something is rattling and spinning loose. It sounds like it's coming from the top of the engine and it gets louder with revs. The engine is running fine and has know lights on. I'm stumped someone said something about flaps breaking in the inlet manifold? Not sure though.

Any ideas please thanks
Jack

Can you post an audio clip?

Does it sound like this:

...or this:

If so, you may need an engine overhaul. Those are my care at it is currently getting a new engine installed.

If you have a mechanics stethoscope see if it's the starter. I had an almost identical noise, and it was my starter somehow getting hung up and rattling. The rattling would increase and decrease when you hit the gas just like in the video.
