pulled well. Gear change was lovely. Pulled straight under braking. Full jaguar service history.

going going tomorrow for further drive and possibly purchase it.

any pointers?
only thought I had was the steering was very light, normal?

Many thanks.

The car being a diesel I suspect you are in the UK. Always best to let folk know where you are.
You don't mention mileage which is important.
I have the same vehicle and they are lovely to drive. Nowadays it's almost impossible to hide faults. So many sensors and warning lights. I would say after two good long test drives if everything sounds sweet then you should be OK. The light steering could just be tracking. Steering should be positive with no wander.
I hope you have had a good look at prices, these cars do not fetch much in the UK now. Folk are so scared of Main agents horrific service costs.
Let us know how you get on and enjoy a lovely motor.
One further thing. Is the car really a Sovereign? the true Sovereign was considerably more expensive new and lot of cars were sold as sovereign when they were not. There has been considerable discussion re this.
All my paperwork says Sovereign, even the log book "but it's not". Mine does not have the piped leather memory seats which a Sovereign should have. I do of course have all the other Gizmos. A true Sovereign should sell for a lot more than a pretend one. On this forum there is all the info you may need,

Thank you for your reply.

Sorry you are quite right...

Yes I'm in the UK. Car shows 120k. As I say full history and runs and idles lovely.

steering didn't pull etc. Just felt light. Which I suspect is because I'm used to a heavy car.

Will take it out for half or so. There is a dual carriageway near by So will get a run down there as well.

Default DPF

Make sure you have a good long run.
I forgot your auto has a DPF. My manual does not.
To replace this can be more than the cars worth but there is not much you can do about it, You just don't want the warning light on.
120,000 with full dealer service history is about half the engines life from all accounts, The Diesels go on forever. Mine revs like a petrol and I can get 60mpg 38/42 round town.

Congratulations, now search this forum for all the pre-emptive fluid changes to keep it purring. Transmission, transfer case, differential, oil/filter, brake fluid, power steering fluid, prop shaft greasing, (if diesel) the "Mr. Muscle" turbo clean/repair and possible "blanking".

I think you can forget the prop shaft greasing. otherwise wise words but if it has as you say UK main agent servicing not much to worry about. They are expensive but good and very thorough.
You will very soon realize why Jags are so pleasingly different to any other motor. Enjoy.
