My cars interior lights are flickering....like teh guage lights and console lights? any ideas?

 

The flickering goes away when you give it a rev?

Do the headlights flicker too?

If so, positive battery cable to the fuse box, maybe a bad connection.

Disco, is it all of the lights that dim with the dimmer switch, or is it all of the lights? If it is only those that are controlled via the dimmer, I would be looking at a loose plug on the headlight switch assembly or a plug close to there. IF it is all of them, I would be looking at a bad fuse or the wire running from the fuse to the headlight switch.

 

If I keep the dimmer knob on the lowest setting, the lights start flickering noticeably, if I then tap it a little higher all is well and no more flickering. It has always been for me.

 

Funny, I noticed the other day that the dimmer seems only to want to be All-on-Bright, or all low-n-flickery. Inside lights (all of em) only. I turned it back up and I'm leaving it alone. They don't flicker now, but that dimmer seemed to lack a middle level of brightness.

 

Check grounds. Different era, different car...I realize...but they do all seem to flicker, now, don't they?
