Fuel rail removal? | 03 3.0 v6
So I've taken on the task of getting the fuel injectors and the intake manifold gaskets changed to hopefully solve some problems I'm having.
I've taken the intake manifold off before to do spark plugs so that part I had experience on already.
So when I got to the fuel rail and everything I basically hit a brick wall. I really don't understand how to undo each end of the fuel rail. The one end seems to just be a connector that I'll need to work a bit. The other one however seems not so obvious.
I'll link pictures below with what I'm talking about. Ignore that black plastic line (red line drawn across it) in the image for the connector end. The connector is as you can see below that.

Andrew: In your 2nd picture, at the end of the fuel rail near the battery is the fuel pressure sensor. If you disconnect the fuel pressure sensor's electrical connector and vacuum line, you can stand next to the US passenger front tire and lift / hinge the fuel rail towards you without disconnecting the flexible fuel line at the other end of the fuel rail, shown in your first picture.
Take care not to break the release clips on the electrical connectors of the fuel pressure sensor and the 6 fuel injectors. These plastic connectors become brittle with engine heat and age. If any do break, I've used small nylon zip ties to secure them so they can't vibrate loose.
While it's not necessary, if you wish to disconnect the flexible fuel line from the fuel rail, this video shows how. The disconnect tools, common to Fords, are inexpensive and readily available on eBay, Harbor Freight and auto parts stores.
