Default Getting thru the firewall

What's up guys, have any of you guys ever installed some subwoofers in your X-Type?? I just bought my entire audio upgrade, got the new headunit in with no problems, but to wire my subs I can't seem to find a a good/easy way to get the wire from the engine bay into the cabin, I only found one where factory wires are going thru but it's not a rubber graumit it's hard plastic and super tight and sealed can't run my 0 gauge wire thru that, is there any other entree way or am I forced to drill into my firewall??

You could try where the hood release cable goes through. On UK cars it's on the right hand side as you look from the front and comes out behind the glove box, I can't say which side it is on for left hand drive models.

The hole for the hood release is drilled on both sides, naturally the one
OPPOSITE your steering wheel is unused.

It is plugged, but it is drilled. It is located about a hand's width in and down between the shock tower and the fender/wing.

My right-hand drive car has a large teardrop shaped grommet just to the left of the steering column, very easy to access. You could easily fit several 0 guage cables through it.
To find it, look at the insulation mat just above the top edge of the carpet in the footwell, to the left of the brake pedal. There will be a perforated section which you can remove to access the 3" grommet in the firewall. Drill a hole through both and replace the cutout over the grommet for a better look and noise insulation.

You have a right hand drive car and live in the United States? How did you acquire that? That's gotta be a pretty rare car here.

So here are photos of where I found the magical "easy-wire" grommet, large enough to thread several 00 guage wire through.

This is a left-hand drive vehicle.

The rubber firewall liner is perforated for access to the grommet.

I ran the power cable around the shock tower. You should protect the wiring from heat in the engine compartment, I used high-temp split loom.

Ahh, the clutch pedal hole...didn't even think about that one! I wonder if there is one of those over on the right side, as well?

How would it work if I actually have a clutch pedal there instead.
