I bought a new glove box latch with lock to replace the broken lock in our 2004 X-Type.

How do I get my current ignition key to work in the new lock????

If you bought a NEW lock from the Jag dealer with your VIN then the lock will use the same key. (if not then thay got it WRONG!!)

If you bought a USED lock, then the original key will be needed and your present key is useless. The other car did not use YOUR KEY.

I know alot of people hate to type and explain the situation, but more info might help people understand the problem you are having.

There are terms like NEW, REPLACEMENT or USED that are often used interchangeably but are misleading.

Please explain in more detail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
