Girlfriend borrowed the car got it washed and put a tank of gas in it

on the way here check engine light came on


I went to autozone and got the following codes


P0174

P0172

P1111

After clearing the codes I got code P1000

pnyklr, 2 things come to mind.

1) when she got the car washed, did she have them clean under the hood? If so, they may have just sprayed under the hood which has been known to cause misfires due to water getting down around the plugs because of the high pressure water.

2) where did she get gas from? It is possible that the station she went to had a little bit of water in their gas and what you were seeing is the water coming through the fuel system.

I would say to keep an eye on the car and see if it happens again. If it don't, then I would chalk it up to bad luck and continue driving. If it happens again, then further investigating will be needed.

 

well we are back to the check engine again no idea why

the gas was about 1/4 a tank and the code came on I filled it up with 93


the light is still on its a mystery to me - I have to get the codes read yet again to see what they are
