Default Hard shift from first to second when driving slow

When driving at normal speeds sometimes the tranny shifts hard from first to second. Sometimes going down hill it shifts hard when it down shifts. Does not do it all the time.

Any ideas

Mine did that a little bit before I changed out the transmission fluid (using 14 second method). How many miles on yours?

It has 175,000 on it. Thanks for getting back about this. I will take your suggestion and change out the fluid.

when buying the oil, as dell states.... make sure it says "MULTI IMPORT" on the jug....there is an almost identical oil on the shelf right next to it so its easy to mess up.

check each bottle carefully, i once bought one of the other types as someone had put it back on the shelf in the wrong place

I'm going with the Royal Purple full syn. Checked with the company here in Cincy where it's made and they directed me to the correct fluid. I only use Royal Purple syn. products.

Yeah there are numerous "high end" fluids that meet the specs like amsoil, etc. Lots of debate has gone on. If one over the other makes you feel better, use it. As another member said "while you're debating, your fluid is getting older".

I'm more of the camp of chemistry = Advil is Ibuprofen, Tylenol is Acetaminophen, Bayer, Ecotrin, Bufferin Aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid. It's the same product and chemical composition so why pay for name and branding?

what made me laff on royal purple website was the positive customer feedback "after using royal purple my transmission felt much crisper and has milage improved"

well DUH!.... you just replaced ypur old crappy water-like oil with fresh oil.....an oil change with any brand oil will yield the same result.

And DUH....would you really expect negative comments on a website trying to sell you something? Every time I see "debates" on different fluids I just kind of shake my head. Like was mentioned, if it meets the spec, it is acceptable. I'm sure there might be some slight differences between brands that probably have no effect on the longevity or performance in normal every day driving. "My car has XXXX bazillion miles on it and I ONLY use Miracle Fluid in my vehicles EVER!". That's cool and I'm glad it works. That doesn't mean El Cheapo fluid would work just as well if they both meet the spec. Does anyone ever hear about an engine failing because of oil? It the proper weight and spec are used and changed regularly chances are the engine will outlast you.

That video was pretty amazing. I did use the 15,000 mobile for my engine oil change. The difference to the 20,000 was double the cost and for 5,000 more miles didn't make sense to me.
