As an alternative of the Jaguar ACM, I was thinking of hard wiring the FM Transmitter I have to the radio, how exactly can I do this? Does someone have a map of which wires are which? Also does anyone know a wire on the back of the head unit that only receives power when the car is started or on.
All you need to do is put the transmitter in line with the FM antenna in, then into the back of the headunit. Do a quick search, it's been covered a few times. Let me know if you still need help after you read up.
Chirs thanks for the response. I tried a few searches and I could not find an answer. I think I know which cable is the FM antenna one though, should I just splice into it? Also how exactly do I connect it to my FM Transmitter? The one I have is this:
Also does anyone know a wire on the back of the head unit that only receives power when the car is on? Like the power wire? I am trying to create a remote for my amplifier so it only turns on when the car is on.
Well from what I have researched, those adapters will in fact work, however I am not too keen on the sirus product. So which fm transmitter box do you guys recommend and are currently using?
Looks like either one would work. The FM antenna is a thick cable, looks like coaxial cable, you can't miss it. I can't remember if you need a European adapter for the rear of the headunit to plug in the new FM antenna, something tells me that you do (I did mine over 6 years ago, memory is a little rusty): http://www.installer.com/item/displa...php?it=40-eu30
You plug the FM antenna into your adapter box, then run the line from the adapter box into the FM antenna lead into the headunit.
For my Sirius power, I just bought another 12v outlet from the auto parts store, and wired it into my existing cigarette lighter 12v, but left it behind the headunit and plugged the Sirius power into that 12v outlet, since I don't really use the 12v outlet in the ashtray anyway and now I don't have any wires laying about. Very simple to do. It is powered by the ignition switch so it will only be on when you turn the car on.
