Default RE: headlight

Look Ma, no burns! Look Ma, two headlights! Got my connectors, soldered (gotta love the smell of solder on a cool fall evening) to the existing wires and bingo-bango, back in business. Neighbor didn't even miss the child I borrowed to get their hands in to do the work. The wiring to the old connector is definitely 12v up the middle and negatory on the side since it appears we can have have different coloured wiring from one car to another in the same MY.

I too had one of my connectors melt and replaced it long ago.

Isn't it strange though that when you hear of this happening, it seems that it is always the left hand side near the battery that melts?
