headlight
Look Ma, no burns! Look Ma, two headlights! Got my connectors, soldered (gotta love the smell of solder on a cool fall evening) to the existing wires and bingo-bango, back in business. Neighbor didn't even miss the child I borrowed to get their hands in to do the work. The wiring to the old connector is definitely 12v up the middle and negatory on the side since it appears we can have have different coloured wiring from one car to another in the same MY.

i just got my HID headlights for my 2002 Jaguar X Type and im ready to install them, i think i have an idea of how to do it but i really dont want to mess anything up, if there is someone here that has done this before please help me out.
I too had one of my connectors melt and replaced it long ago.
Isn't it strange though that when you hear of this happening, it seems that it is always the left hand side near the battery that melts?
