Default Help! Car Doesn’t Start

I got into my 2003 Jaguar X Type the Battery Light came on along with the ABS and slowly the brake light start flickering on and off my Check Engine Light came on shortly after... The lights dimmed and the fans and the radio stopped working. The Miles Light on the dash disappeared and my lights went out and the car went into limp mode I can only go lower than 10miles per hour and the car started to jerk. It’s pouring rain of course my luck any suggestions to what it could be?

Bad battery power/ground or the cable would be top of my list.

Okay I changed out the battery with the one listed in the link below... After installing it and everything else fitted my battery light comes on... The battery terminals are loose and wiggle the negative battery terminal doesn’t want to sit properly. Anyone have the correct bolt and Nut that belongs?

Okay I changed the battery and the car is still dying. I sanded down the negative and positive battery terminal and The car started but battery light is still on. I will try and checking cupping my hand over the terminals and seeing after 5-10mins if either one is abnormally hot but I’m assuming the alternator is on it’s way out. Can Someone explain Voltage Drop how to test exactly what is it I’m looking for?

Has the alternator been changed without removing the AC Freon? Can it be done from the top? Please any help would be appreciated

Also be sure to buy a true Jaguar alternator. Many posts on lesser expensive Asian knockoffs not charging the 3 stage (X400) requirements.

Thanks for the reply I saw this video I don't have an AC machine to recycle the freon, so I'd have to tow the car back and forth I saw someone posted How to remove from the top but he is the only one to achieve this.

Hey I just got a call from the shop I took it too and they said they replaced the alternator the car wasn't charging with the previous alternator and it is now charging but the light is still coming on and oil was on the alternator but I had the engine blow so I don't know if the engine oil leaked from there or the valve cover is leaking. I changed the belt as well. What do you think about the light and was the alternator needed to be replaced or was it a waste? And should I change the valve cover myself and save myself alittle.
