Default 2-din

Did some research about this earlier. One of the models that has fitted properly is Pioneer AVH-P4100DV which is discontinued product.

Dimensions (W × H × D):
DIN
Chassis ..................... 178 mm × 100 mm × 165
mm
(7 in. × 3-7/8 in. × 6-1/2 in.)
Nose ........................... 171 mm × 97 mm × 9 mm
(6-3/4 in.× 3-7/8 in.× 3/8 in.)

I guess these are the general guidelines by what you have to choose the head unit by.

Hope you can change your head unit to something that fits.

Thanks for that . That does help . I wonder could any one explain to spacers? Are they used so that the unit can sit further back in the cage ? And does any one know where I can buy these because I can't find them online ?

Any help would be great

I recently installed Pioneer AVH 3300BT, also stuck out a inch or so, but this was purely because of the chunky heat sink. So I kindly introduced it to mr hacksaw......

Nip, tuck, done.........

Let me clarify...

There was a large aluminium heat sink on the back of the Pioneer unit, I trimmed it down to about 50% of it's original size, now the unit sits flush

I did not modify the cars heating system/ducts

Default Shape not size..

Ok, what it comes down to, is that even 157mm deep unit doesn´t fit properly if the unit has some bulk in the top.

Standard 165mm deep units should also fit if the depth is less in the top of unit.. Have to do some research into this.

I wouldn´t feel to comfy about reduding the size of the heat sink to half of original. I´m sure that Pioneer has done some calculations for things like this. Quarantee's gone also..
