Default Help me please....won't start

ok so i got in my car this morning and went to start it, 2005 jaguar x type all wheel drive with a 3.0 engine, all stock. and it wouldnt crank over. i can jump the starter and force it to crank but still no start. so i know its not the starter. is there a fusible link somewhere or a relay that could cause this? i turn the key over and nothing happens at all. all the dash lights come on like normal and absolutely nothing when i turn the key. there where no symptoms at all, was running fine and reliable then over night something happened and it wouldnt start. i had it towed to the mechanic shop and they couldnt figure it out, stranger thing is i drove it onto the flat bed tow trailer but could drive it off do to the no start no crank. havent been able to get it to run sense. any help is better than none. i will have some videos that i can upload in a few days.

I would check the cables from the battery to ground and the starter also It has been said they cause nonstart problems. The cables break internally, hard to find by looking,I've had the security system do this also.just a FYI, I know your car is in the shop but I hope this helps.

In situations such as this, always check that the battery is topline before trying anything else. It's the essential baseline when chasing electrical problems!

i tried replacing the ignition switch and got the same result, nothing. Ill try putting a known good one in it and see if that fixes it. its pretty easy to test source voltage with a DVOM through the cables so ill try that if the battery replacement doesn't work.

Have you tried resetting the bump/inertia switch in the passenger (right) foot well?

How did you drive it on the trailer when you just had said it was not running? You're not telling us something.

Have you tried a new battery yet? If we are taking votes put me down for the battery being bad. I have seen too many posts over the years that the poster said they were having all sorts of issues and it turns out to be the battery and/or the cables. I remember when my battery went it was sudden with no warning whatsoever. Starting strong and easy one day-the next morning nothing. Sound like anyone you know? That is very easy to change and in the big scheme of things pretty cheap.

Is the car at the mechanic or at your house? You mentioned they were stumped. Do you know what they checked or ruled out?
