I've been doing my own oil changes for quite some time on my X Type. It holds 6.1 quarts with the filter change. I've beenusing Motorcraft filters with no problems.

I use Castrol Syntec (5w30)..and including an OE filter..It takes everytime I change the oil 6.5 qts exactly..Make sure you fill the new filter first before putting it on and do this oil change on a flat level surface and not on any incline.

Vegas..where to heck are you coming up with these numbers?

hey guys...
Iput 5L of castrol syntec oiland 1L of Lucas synthetic oil stabilizer...
Is this ok?
or Should I put some more?
It's been a while....about 1500km remain to next oil change...
Can I put some 1L of lucas synthetic oil stabilizer now?
Cuz I notice that there is little noise in engine than before.
Or 500ml of STP oil treatment?

Bo..As you very well know, everything South of the boarder is measured in non-metric units and dispensed in the same, except for2 liter Cokes and Booze...get over it

Gunz..how many miles on your engine?...Synthetic oil requires no stabilizers..all that aftermarket crap is Snake oil IMO...And for God Sakes, don't use any STP or Slick 50..

6.5 qts Mobil 1

K&N oil filter ($13) - has a nut welded to the top for easy removal.

uses somewherebetween .5 qt and 1qt between oil changes (5 to 7k mi)

NO snake oil.

Someone please translate all that into Canadian.

As you know, the American Revolution took US off the metric system back in the 1700s..so it's worked for US so far, why change?..The Oil Companies bottle the oil in QT bottles..so what you gonna do, order the stuff from Canada?..I don't think so..

You would have to divide into a 10 gallon hat. I'm not sure what the metric equivilant is, since we are crazy.
