Default Instrument panel problem

Hi Guys,

Wife just called me and told that her X-Type was acting funny. Car worked just fine expect that analog meters (speedo, tachometer and temp) died.

Dot display, radio, A/C worked just fine.

She got home, waited for few minutes, started the car again and meters worked again as normal.

Any ideas? Loose connector or something worse?

May have just been a small loss of power. Did the battery light, dtc fault, and other faults pop up on the dash? I have had my dash die for a couple seconds like you say, but it came right back up once I revved up and my alternator caught up with my demand for power. These gauges are also very, very picky on when they want to work.
