iPhone to Xtype
Hey guys,
Just bought the iphone and wanted to know what i could do to hook this up to the car.. keeping in mind that i want good quality and not the damn radio frequency hook up.
1. Additionally, in the past, i had sub woofer connection, and believe that i have the adapter/converter from the stock head unit to the amp... those rca things... perhaps ill be able to use that?
Thanks guys!!!

I have my iPhone connected through my Kenwood headunit.... Might be something you want to look into instead of getting ripped by the dealership to put one in for you, you can put a tv in your car as well...
Iv had an iphone for quite a while and iv been wanting to hook up the acm also. But its toooo expensive. i have a belkin fm transmitter that works okay, radio quailtiy, a bit worse... rarely use it.

On my iPhone 3GS and iPhone 2.5G I still use the good old cassette adapter. It's better than the FM Transmitter by 100x but it still isn't a great solution. I'd had some ideas but they would require some modification to the center console probably.

I was looking for a way to have an Aux input that would also satisfy an iPhone.
I bought the Dynex WIRED FM modulator kit at Best Buy for $45 and installed it myself. I needed 2 antenna adapters for $12 each. There is one + and one - wire and it switches itself on and off automatically.
The head units in our cars are very easy to get out.
I must say, it is VERY clear. No background noise, no interferance, no squeal...I'm really happy with it.
I routed the 3.5mm Aux in port into the glove box.
Hope this helps!
