Hi all, I installed an iSimple fm transmitter about two weeks ago and all was working good until recently. Yesterday it was playing my iPhone music fine, then it went dead, just static and no charging. I turned it off then later when I got in the car turned it on and worked fine again, after 10 minutes or so, same issue no power to the device and static. Today same thing works fine for a bit then shuts off. Now here is my question, I installed this myself and wired it to the cigarette lighter. (Keyed power source) do y'all think this could be the issue or is it a bad unit? Thanks for any help

 

bdg, from what you are describing, it sounds like you are not getting good electrical connection. How did you attach the wires to the connectors on the cigarette lighter?

I used a quick splice connector. I thought maybe it was a bad connection but there is no rhyme or reason to when the power goes out. the vehicle could be in motion or at a stop. think bad connection?

 

Where did you earth it? I used to have an FM Modulator and used one of the J Gate screws. Also used the lighter and never had a problem.
