You'll have to purchase the ACM module from either ebay or a Jaguar dealer. It'll provide much better SQ than an FM modulator.

Luckily for me, I have an 2002, and I have the tape deck.

I personally don't like the sound of either fm modulator or tape deck converter...you still get noise that irritates the life out of me! The acm would be the way to go but it is costly. You could add an aftermarket radio and go from there for probably the same price you pay just for the acm...

I was thinking about getting the ACM, but didnt want to spend too much, plus Im not sure I want to commit to it, so I just bought a FM transmitter for $60 by Monster. I have to say its not bad, it works perfectly well, the sound quality is the same as using atape deck adapter, and when outside of the city, sound isvery clear. But theFM transmitter works alot better on my nissan(traditional antenna) than the Jag (black strip thingie)...

Hey jp and with that monster converter finding the station that is farthest away from a station that has signal you will get the best signal...know what I'm saying? Say your at 88.1 and there isn't another station until 90.0 if you keep it the farthest away from 90.0 you can you get the best signal. The thing I hate about it is to adjust the ipod you have to look right at it and not to mention all of the wires and what not that have to be plugged into our cig. plugs suck...although you could mount the plug hidden and tap into the cig. plug....

yea, thanks for the pointers aquil but unfortunately for me, nyc is flooded with radio waves, I didnt even know there were so many stations here til i got this fm transmitter. Also, I figured out that the best way to get rid of minor static is to raise the volume on the mp3/mp4 player rather than raising the volume on the car stereo. andsince I listen to my music/movies loud, I hear no static at all now. Again, not sure I want to commit to installing or mounting anything, only 1 wire/plug anyways.

The crappy part is that door that always has to be open to play the mp3 player. That bugs me so it made it way easier to tap into the cig. plug from below the ash tray...its really easy to do it if you wanted to nothing major or anything just removing the ash tray which takes all of a minute...I could take pics if you wanted, let me know if you needed help...

Is the ACM strictly for iPods or can it also be used for XM? I got an XM receiver for Xmas and a buddyof mine that works at the Jag dealer said i needed to buy an FM modulator.

If you have x-type, you can pull radio out and install fm modulator under there so it is hidden. Oh...yes you do have to have xm modulator unless your xm unit has built in fm transmitter.

Default New question - Clarion radio loses tuning

XLS V12 1984. I have the standard Clarion radio/cassette player. It loses station memory when I switch it off. Or possibly I'm not setting the station memory correctly. How do you do it? Is there a Guide anywhere?
