I need help...About three weeks ago my fuel pump all of a sudden developed a problem and my car could not start. My mechanic changed it for me and it began to work normal, until a week later when i started smelling fuel (petrol) in my car. The mechanic diagnosed that the cover of the pump was melting so he changed it.

Two weeks later while driving in a traffic, the car could not move when I press the accelerator, eventhough the engine was on. So i restarted the car and it worked normal for about 5km and began slowing down again. So i restarted again and worked normal till i got home. This afternoon it occurred again.

I suspect it is the automatic transmission system which is developing a fault, on the otherhand, i think it could also be the fuel pump since that was changed just recently. I really need help before it gets out of hand.

 

Could it also be transfer case problem. My car has gone only 17,000 k.m, but was parked from 2008 till December 2012 in Accra Ghana. And i have not changed the T-box oil. Could it be the problem.

 

I am driving a 2006 X-type and have a problem with the petrol pump, every time the car gets hot, the petrol cuts. I have take it in for repairs but it looks like they don't get it rite. it works for a while and it will start again. Can please someone help.
