Too light compared to waht? Is this something that just happened after owning the car awhile or it the car new to you? If it is the former, please give some more information about when teh condition first happened? if it is the latter, then I would venture a guess you are just not used to the car yet and could you tell us what car you drove before getting the X?

There have also been a few reports of substantial "lighter" feel on longer owned X's (had them a while) as the power steering unit began failing.

Been mulling this over for a bit. I had a thought. In replacing the front lower control arms, MY fault on what happened. These =
I did not fully seat the ball joint on LHD passenger's side into the component fully. It "popped" once and I didn't look closely enough to see it needs to "pop" twice to fully seat. Driving it with that (again my fault) loose joint felt like I was driving on black ice. It felt like I was sliding, front very loose. And as anyone who drives an X knows, it's light but EXTREMELY responsive to the slightest movement. Luckily, mine failed driving into the garage to get 4 wheel alignment. The tire would move completely forward and rearward in the wheel well as well as it was toed outward about an inch to inch and a half. It ended up dinging the paint on the rear wheel well a tad. The owner of the shop said move it back and forth slightly as he was watching. At one point he kicked the tire hard towards the engine and it tore my CV out. Smh!
Just wondering if the ball joints are shot instead of not installed correctly as I did, could it give someone that same driving experience? Just a thought.
