Jaguar x400 transmission fluid level
Does anyone here know which method is effective in checking if the tranny fluid level is the correct recommended one? If I drain and measure, the tranny seems to have been loosing oil for some time, so i wont know which is which.
There have been very many confusing search results that helve left me in a worse position that i was when i embarked on my search.

There are numerous threads here with the answer. The correct Jaguar way would be your best bet because of the fluid loss. The thread I have has the DEFINITIVE ANSWER of which plug to never touch that screws your transmission up necessitating tearing it out to fix.
The method is exactly the same as a Jetta MK4 with the 5 speed JATCO gearbox (09A) The VW is front wheel drive only but the gearboxes are the same!!!
Anyone that can check a VW can do the same for a Jaguar X400. (same fluid also)

Thanks, I checked the links out, and each link took me to another, until I was satisfied to attack my Jaguar for a tranny fluid job. Thanks Motocarman and Dell Gailey for your patience with me and your guidance. I still can't figure out why I failed to land on those links during my three days search on the forum.
Warm regards
