JaguarVoice?

JaguarVoice?
I need your help on something. How do I know if I have JaguarVoice or not?
My 2007 X-Type has the Luxury Package, Bluetooth, Nav, Alpine...pretty much everything that was an option including the 18" Aruba wheels.
What I found out was that my LG EnV Touch is not 100% compatible so I can pair the phone with the Bluetooth but not download the phonebook.
However, when I press the voice command button, it only mutes the stereo. It doesn't prompt me for any voice commands.
Anyone know what may be the issue?
Thanks!

If you have JaguarVoice, pressing the button will change the left hand alphanumeric display (under the speedometer) to read "Listening." If no voice is detected, the same panel will change to something like "Command not recognized."
Jaguar just makes one steering wheel and includes the button on all of them. JaguarVoice will cost you about $800-900 as an add-on. If they had to also provide the steering wheel as a part of the upgrade kit, it would add $400-500 to the upgrade just to get that one button.
I've forgotten how Bluetooth operates without JaguarVoice. Are you certain your phone software is the latest version? I sort of faked a query (don't have your VIN) into the Jaguar Bluetooth site and found that the LG EnVTouch VX11000 was shown to be fully compatible. Maybe you have a different model<shrug>.

Hey, Eric!
My instrument panel only has one display (on the speedo). Of course, I never looked at that. I thought the system would prompt me like Sync does on another car I have. I was only looking at the Nav screen, and all it shows is "MUTE" when I press the button. Also, I thought it was included if you have the Nav and Bluetooth.
Here's the odd thing about my cell. I've checked everything, and like you saw it was fully compatible. However, when I had the tech at the Jaguar service check it, they said it was only partially compatible. I'll have to doublecheck the software again.
Thanks!
John

JaguarVoice is independent of the phone used...if at all. That is:
1. You can use a Bluetooth phone if the car has Bluetooth capability even though JV isn't installed. (I did for about a year.)
2. If you have JV installed, you can use it and interact with the sub-systems even though you've never owned a Bluetooth phone or don't have it paired. (My wife does this all the time.)
Think of JV as a utility off of which you can hang things like A/C, audio entertainment, .... and Bluetooth.
However, I don't think that JV existed before Jaguar had changed to the Bluetooth interface. So in short, JV is not dependent upon whether or not a phone is factory supplied. Mine wasn't and JV works. I really believe that JV is not in your car.
