Default JF506E Question

My 2003 x-type 140,000 KM is starting not to go into gear when its hot. Apx. 30 minutes of driving. Reverse is fine and my Vin is out of range for the reverse clutch piston issue away.

Its an automatic with manual of left side. So far when the issue happens, I simply slip it over to 2 from D, and away I go.

Anyone have this issue? and did a Solenoid Kit fix it?

More info, when it will not go into gear, it's in neutral. It begins to roll forward or backward. Only appears to be first gear. However car has always shifted hard in highter gears.
Thanks
Vic

Lot of talk on the internet about just replacing N92.
Has anyone done that? Or the 3 Duty ones N88 N89 and N92?

Thanks

Got my car back a couple of weeks ago. Works better then ever.
My tranny guy did not think it was solenoid for what he called a NO MOVE situation.

He opened up the transmission, fluid was not burn or that dark.
He changed worn drum and the clutches.-

Car has never worked so well, no hesitation or hard shifts anymore.
Let anyone not going into gear after it hot.

When he put his code scanner on and first examined the car, he told me the noise I have been chasing for years was the steady bearing / Propshaft bearing. Supposedly not replaceable, but we forum people know better. I order the bearing, part number is in other threads, for 17 bucks.
He said it was a bugger to change, but he did it.

Car has never worked so well, no longer heavy.

I have had this car for close to 4 years. Whoever had it before me, did not have any of the technical service bulletins done.

I checked with my local Jag Dealer, 4 hours away.
I am going to have a bunch of them done next time I am in.
This is the one I really want.

Good to hear you are all set!

Did the whole transmission have to come out? Was it very expensive?

He was able to do it inplace. Taking it out was going to be $1000s.

$400 parts
$400 labour - 2/5ths of that was the steady bearing
$100 taxes

Just under $900
