Key Stuck and Shifter Wont Go Shift down to 4, 3, or 2...Please Help!

I have a couple problems with my Jaguar 2002 X-Type,
I got it from a used car dealership Yesterday.
I knew I was taking a risk in buying it.
Well these are the following issues that I have so far.
The first issue is that I can't get the key out of the ignition unless I unplug the battery.
Secondly, the transmission is automatic and it looked in great condition,
but my shifter won't go to gears 4, 3, nor 2. It's only driveable on D.
I drove it for a while and then when I was about to park I forced the shifter to 4
and radiador fluid came out. I'm not sure if its related to it or just a coincidence.
Any help is appriciated it. Thank you in advance for your reply.

Didn't you test drive it before buying?

Yes of course, I even took it to get check with a local shop, they did a visual and computer inspection.
However, it never occur to me to try driving in 2, 3 or 4.

Sounds like the transmission cable/linkage is stuck. One possible problem is that the transmission valve body is damaged for those gears. Check your linkage in the console first

As for your key issuse, i'm not sure what the battery has to do with it..the key is a normal tumbler/lock...the battery has nothing to do with it....

When you forcd your transmission into 4th and radiator fluid came out, it was just a coincidence.

You have 30 days from the purchase of your car to get everything fixed?? I would take it back and see if they can help you. Sounds like you may have problems down the road.

Race, It's not coolant that came out under the hood...it was tranny fluid. In General Tech Chat, he wrote that the liquid was red and oily, not pinkish like coolant. I think that forcing it into 4th might have caused that problem.

My first guess was transsmission fluid, but the tow truck driver said it was radiador fluid and got me all confused. I didn't make sense that the radiador would lead when the problem was with the transmission.
If it helps any, the dealership sold me a warranty through some campany called Global or Globe Warranty. It cover major components such as engine and transsmission.
I bought the car as-is, and I don't think there's much I can do when it comes to Legal Services.
