Hi all i have an 2002 x type 2.5 v6 i had the engine management light come up i read the code it was showing knock sensor ! so i changed the knock sensor problem solved or so i thought !! i done 10 miles with no problems then the car went to limp mode again saying knock sensor again grrr .. if i clear the fault it wont go into limp mode until it goes to normal temreture then the light comes on and it again shows knock sensor fault !! the car dont knock at all it sounds sweet . has anyone got any ideas ?? could it be plugs ?? or something else ?? cheers in advance ,

 

There are 2 knock sensors on the car. Which one did you change out. There is the hidden one in the center of the engine, under the lower intake and under the steel coolant pipe. The other is on the side of the engine. Let me know if you need locations of both and I will get pictures

I bet it's the one under the intake manifold that's bad. Mine failed at 130k.

 

Mines a 2002 2.5 x type ive been told there is only one knock sensor on this model its the one under the thermostat housing under the injectors thats the one i have changed .

 

Yes thats the one i changed ive been told thats the only one on it !
