Hi
I misplaced my only key for my 2003 Jaguar x-type... It's the switchblade type.
The dealer wants $405.00 for the key, plus another $100.00 to program it.
Any ideas on how to obtain and have one programmed for my car?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Don't putz around if that was your ONLY key. Bite the bullet and pay to play. Then search here in the forum how to buy and program additional key(s).

 

The alternate is show dealer proof of ownership, get the tribbe code for your car (key cut code), find an independent locksmith with the equipment to cut AND PROGRAM your key.
