More Power???
Most of you are probably aware of Steve Hannes Jaguar blog. He writes great how to's with pics and clear instructions. On the following page:
http://jagmotorproject.blogspot.com/...breathing.html
He demonstrates how to improve the air box on the X-Type. He basically does 3 things.
1. Removes a baffle obstruction in the air box lid.
2. I don't quite get this one, but I think he replaces the uptake tube on the lid with a larger diameter tube....?.
3. Adds an addition cold air pick up.
I did numbers 1 & 3, and I definitely notice more pull when I accelerate. Especially since it has cooled down in AZ lately, the air is nice and cool. This pic shows where I removed part of the plastic rim that blocks some air flow.

These show the 2" diameter hose that I added to the bottom part of the air box. I used clear Silicon adhesive to seal the edges

New hose sits next to the original air pick up (passenger side)

Definite power gains from this. How much? I don't know but def. noticeable. I've had my X four months and I am enjoying the hell out of it!
