Hello everybody i am a new jaguar owner and loving every minute of it .. I have one problem my car wont pass emissions due to the fact the check engine light is on because i installed a aftermarket radio. Dont know what to do someone has told me to reinstall the original radio so the light goes off . But there must be a way to keep my aftermarket radio installed and the check engine light off.. Hi Juune, June?
Welcome to the forum and I am glad you are happy, that is delightful!!!
You will need to go to:
New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
and once you are introduced, you can go to user CP at the top left of your screen when logged on and edit your signature, that way you can add your model, year, petrol/deisel and engine size and everyone will see what you have, so there will be limited mistakes when you are getting advice!
Ahem, here goes.. maybe the specialist radio buffs will disagree, but I am sure that you can keep the aftermarket gear as long as you are happy, but if the warning light is due to that, i would do a hard reset of the system by disconnecting the battery and it should be recognised by the system when you switch back on!
Good luck and keep us posted? The members here are fab and you will get real sound decent advice from owners who love their cars as much as we do, jaguarforums.com is a special breed and I would not feel the same anywhere else, as I do with being right here, where the action is ...... apart from being in My Jaguar!
