I bought my 2002 X Type automatic at an auction, so I had no idea of its story. I drove it 4hrs. to get home and it ran perfect. EXCEPT.. it was stuck in the lower gears 1,2,3? 60 mph it was at 3000 rpm. I've read and read of all the different faults but I didn't see my story. I havent pulled the modules out yet. It appears to be bone dry under there. Any suggestions?! Thanks.

 

My car threw 6 codes about 2 years ago. One was for transmission and chassis etc. A wire to one of the front shocks had broken at the connector. I soldered it and it's been fine, but still trying to find a new shock wire connector for a reasonable price.

 

Had same symptom few months ago, Problem was from the Transmission control module TCM.
