Hi Guys;

Can anybody identify these little gadgets that I discovered in the spare tire well on my X ? They are spring-loaded, and appear to have a piece of them broken off the side of each? Everything works on the car; I'm not even sure if they belonged to it as I don't see anything like them on my car now. I'm baffled.

 

My son found the same shaped piece on the interior floor of a new Buick SUV. I can't wait for someone to tell us what they are and where they are from. Jack

 

Those are the spring-loaded plungers that mount on the trunk scissor hinges. They are supposed to provide a little more spring to the trunk lid when it popped open.

 

Aha! Thank you, Nick. You're right, the trunk (oops, Boot ) lid doesn't jump up, it just unlatches. I think I can live with that, though. I just bought a new revised headlight washer nozzle for my right front corner which has about the same amount of plastic in it, and I nearly had to mortgage the dog!

 

LOL. I had these in my car too. Couldn't figure out what they are. Now I know.

Next up someone can explain me what the button under my review mirror does.
