Default Mystery switch!

Hello

I have just bought a 2008 x-type estate and have pretty much got to grips with everything. However, there is a switch below and to the right of the steering column (right hand drive car) that doesn't seem to feature in the instruction manual. It is a I/O switch and I can't work out what it does?! Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Also, as an aside - my arm rest is very rattly - does anybody know how easy it is to tighten everything up?

Thanks
Kenno

Take a photo of the switch & post it?

The arm rest rattling is a fairly common issue. You can't fix it by tightening, but what I did was cut long thin strips of those soft pads you put on furniture legs and put them on the inside so that the plastic surfaces don't rub together. Not perfect but way quieter.

Thanks for the responses and sorry for getting ahead of myself a little Graham - I was a bit too keen to try and discover the purpose of the mystery switch!
I have (hopefully) attached a picture - it's a 0 or 1 button lower down than the instrument panel on the right...
Cheers

That's not a factory switch.

that looks like a switch for a light kit. Maybe extra lights under the hood . It is definitely not factory.

Q: You see this button? Whatever you do, don't touch it.

BOND: No. Why not?

Q: Because you'll engage and fire the passenger ejector seat - Whoosh!

BOND: Ejector seat. You're joking.

Now everyone is agreed it's not a factory switch, I'm fascinated to know what it does.
