Not sure if your from the states - but when replacing the o-rings - I broke a bolt (rusted) I went to Home Depot they have a lots of different bolts - just bring one with you & compare it - also when installing try to use lube on the end of the threads on the bolt - Also on the manifold mark which location the bolt came from some are longer & shorter -

Magicjuan17 thats what im going to do but as I was telling Dr. Dome that I have another problem on my hands I took a bolt out with the whole assembly now I need to replace the bolt, the plastic tube attachedment that goes on one of the hole of the intake to bolted down, and the small gold thread that goes attached to the other part.

The brass insert came out of the black plastic that holds the "o-ring" (cause.. they're not really "rings") seals?

I had that happen on a Ford Triton V-8 which uses a similar method (really? imagine that!) to hold things down. I was able to JB Weld the brass fitting back in place in the black plastic. May be a one-time thing that will fail the next time I take it apart but it's working as long as I don't have to fiddle with it again.

Default brass fittings

I fixed my brass fittings today too... I heard a few people mention that plastic epoxy works well, so that's what i went with, but if that doesn't end up holding ill give JB weld a try.

Very true. Use the JB that has to set up overnight.

Also note, JB needs to be about 50 degrees F (12C) or higher before it will cure. That could be an issue in the northern hemisphere this time of year.

Default Quick Update

Went to replace my upper and lower air intake gaskets last weekend, and the brass fitting came loose again (no surprise there). Tried to re-apply plastic epoxy, but no luck this time- still a large vacuum leak. Giving JB weld (not the Kwik stuff) a try today, temps are 55 degrees so it should cure well.

Mine did this on the bolt next to cylinder #1 of the intake (one of only two bolts that hold down the back 3 cylinders).

After a few failed attempts at fixing it, and since I didn't want to buy a new lower intake manifold, what worked for me was I removed the brass fitting that broke off, then I found a long bolt and flat washer that I just put in in from underneath and then set the intake back down on top of it. With the extra inch or so of the bolt sticking out it was easy to put a lock washer and nut on the top and tighten it up. Over the past year I've taken the intake manifold off 3 times without any problems at all.

Just make sure the bolt is long enough to be able to put two more nuts on top just in case you need to use them to hold it still to loosen the nut since you'll be unable to get at the other end to hold when you tighten or loosen it up.
