With the exception of draining the full tank of fuel I just put in. Anybody got any good advice to dropping the tank on my 2003 2.5 X?? (Bad fuel pump) Just looking for those tips from any of you thats done this before. Things to watch out for.
Thanks folks,

Jim, you will end up dropping the rear driveshaft out of the car to get the tank down far enough to access the fuel pump. Along those same lines, to drop the rear driveshaft down, you will need to loosen the clamp around the centering bearing.

After that, it should be a fairly straight forward thing. Hopefully you don't have too much gas in the tank as this can make moving the tank around a real bear. If you can, drive the car as much as possible to get the tank to under 1/4 tank. Granted, it can be done with any amount of gas in the tank. But, if the tank is fairly full, make sure to cap all openings to make sure you don't cover yourself in fuel.

drop the exhaust out of the car, the driveshaft, disc the fuel filler hose and the line from the fuel filter to the tank. disc the 3 electrical connectors above the fill neck at the tank. and you have to drop the front of the diff down by unbolting the front diff to frame bolt. you need to supper the tank on a plywood board cxut to fit the area under the tank but between the straps to not interfere with them being unbolted out of the way. lower on a jack after unbolting(Im assuming youre on your back without a lift). Dont lower all the way because youll have to disc the elect connector above the tank to the tank, and the evap hose from the tank to the charcoal cannister. be VERY carefull on that pipe you only let the tank down enough to get your hand at it. too much and youll snap the plastic pipe off the charcoal cannister. THEN its pretty straightforward

Thanks, Just finished it up. Not a bad job at all. Of course like every fuel pump I've had to change, the tank just got filled. Again, thanks for the help.
