Default New DIY $7 Front Lip/Spoiler+Showing off pics

Hey Jag enthusiasts,

As you may know we are pretty limited when it comes to accessories for our X Types. For such a long time I wanted a front lip/spoiler because the chin of the car was just too bare for me. When I put my H&R springs the front of the car sorta looked like it was "looking up" instead of looking lowered (hard to explain)

The mina gallery and arden front lips are just way too expensive for me; going upwards of $200. Instead I made my own front lip for around $7 using a strip of garage door sealer that is held on by screws because mounting tape didn't wan't to stick to it. It is a firm foam that will bend to corners easily and is really managable. Same exact principle as the "EZ Lip" sold on eBay for $35

I am in love with the way it looks. Makes the front look beefier and more aggressive.

Looks good. Did you buy the garage door sealer material new? If so do you have a brand/part number?

Hey Tom, I tried looking for information but home depot doesn't seem to have it listed on their page. They only sell one brand and one length there if I recall correctly. The most important thing is for it to have that distinctive shape in the picture and it should work.

Very nice, I think I may have to add this to mine. Blends in really well without the OEM body kit

That is one beautiful car! The center and lower mesh grills really wakes up the front end quite nicely. Good tip for the car spoiler as I'll be going by Lowes and Home Depot tomorrow looking for it.

Just for a reference of how it looks like on another color, here is what it looks like on a silver S Type R from 03Jagg (another user on these forums) who bought the EZ LIP off of ebay (which is the same material that I used).

aCapiz,
Do you have any closeups of the front grille? What type of mesh did you use for the upper and lower grilles?

wyxtype:
The grilles are actually the ones sold from Mina Gallery. A bit pricey but they really do look amazing. The top grille is the one they sell as the "2008 style grille" and they actually have the option to get different colors of mesh now

Your Jags look so nice. Where did you get the rear trunk leaper from?

EDIT: Never mind....found one. Again, nice Jags.
