sounds like a faulty brake pedal switch(s) there are two of them, one for the brake lights the other for cruise cancelling, cheap & easy to fix!!

Also, you should make a signature with your year, make and model.

Tbone: Welcome to the JaguarForums. You'll find lots of friendly people here who enjoy our X-Types and share tips and tricks to keep them running smoothly.

Above the brake pedal are two switches for the brake lights (grey switch) and cruise control (green switch). This post has pictures: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...3/#post1242822

Sometimes the brake light switch falls out of the mounting bracket, as described in the thread above, and in this thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...problem-99750/

Let us know what you find, and we'll help you from there.

Welcome T-Bone. You have come to the right place. Any issues you might have with your car have probably happened to someone else at some point. If you can't find something by searching, just ask. Chances are someone will be able to help in short order. Like DW said, a lot of friendly helpful people. This is a very active community. I'm sure you will enjoy it.
