Default nice if they built X-type convertibles?

I keep thinking how nice it would have been if they built x-type convertibles or at the very least x-tyes with soft tops. I have a carinval red 2003 X-Type and it would look sweet if I had a white/creme soft top. What are you thoughts?

This looks like it might be a photoshopped picture

Looks like a baby XKR... Would be sweet if they made one with a folding hard top and supercharged V6. Something to compete with the likes of the CLK and C70s.

yea its not photo shopped, i read somewhere they had planned on making this, and a R version, but once the x type crapped out on sales, both went to the company vault, never to be seen again.....ever TUN TUN TUN.

Yess it would have been sweet, even a coupe model to compare to the m3 coupes, i was thinking, why did they go back the the 90's, the through in the v6 trubo, from the xj220, that engin still kills cars like the zonda. or a small v8, even 300hp would have been suffieniceint, and maybe a rear wheel drive option.

Awe what could have been

thats a photochop. I can see the faint line on the door and he even went as far as swapping wheels and brakes while he was at it. Would be cool, but I mainly bought my X due to road noise in my convertible. I shudder to think of the road noise from an already borderline X-Type (drivetrain noise=yuck) combined with the top noise from the canvas top. I'm with Allen on the folding hardtop.

Not a fan of convertibles but that edited photo looks wicked! So long X Type, A car that could have been developed to have great desirability. To have been given the opportunity to grow.

Im wondering if the Ford Mondeo has a Convertible?? If so it might fit an X type with a few cuts here and there. Very cool looking though.

JagMachanic

Never seen a Mondeo convertible doubt they ever made one. Shame really as though a mondeo would look awful like you say fitting on an X would be cool.
