Question No phone

I've been trying to connect my cellphone with my 2004 Jag X-type,2.5
when I scan for a bluetooth connection it never seems to find the
Jag. Is there something that I am not doing right? The cellphone is a
Samung Galaxy Note 4.

Are you sure the vehicle has the phone module installed?

Default I have the same problem

I recently purchased a used 2007 Jaguar X-Type and am having the same issue when I try to pair up my LG Smartphone with the X-Type Bluetooth.
The instructions in the owner's manual say to press the Phone symbol then key-in a code ##3#*#. I do not have the touch screen. When I press ##3, it reverts to the radio pre-set #3 selection on the radio instead of setting up the Bluetooth. When I first got the car, I was playing with different buttons on the audio panel and I believe at one point, I saw the 'Sig' message come up instead of No Phone but now I can't get to that point again.

How do I determine if this car has the Bluetooth module installed, and if it does not, can you recommend an easy -to-use aftermarket alternative to use with this car. I'm a real estate agent and I spend a lot of driving time in car and it would be very helpful to have a hands-free option.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I'm looking for the same answer. Where would I look to confirm if I have the module or not? My 03 has the Bluetooth radio, but I've been unsuccessful in connecting.
Hopefully the experts here can give us some insight.

Default No Phone

Just fount an interesting bit of info from another thread that relates to my situation, but possibly not yours.

X-Type's didn't come standard with bluetooth, it has to be added to the car. Although they all came came with the buttons to work the phone system to ease the cost of upgrading to it. Also 2003 was when Jag converted over to bluetooth from their dedicated "Jag phone", (the Jaguar branded Motorola V60 that fits into the cradle. So if you VIN number is below D31148 then your car won't accept bluetooth at all.

This sucks cause my VIN is below that, so I'm out of luck! Hope you guys have more luck.

Dennis,
Not sure I understand your reply. I do not have a touch-screen. Where would I look to see if I have the modules you've shown in the pictures. I looked in the boot area (believe that's the trunk) and did not see any panels on the side I could look in. I think I did see the 'Sig' message come up at one point, which I believe would indicate that the phone module is installed, but now all I get is the message 'No Phone'. Any help would be appreciated. I really can't afford to take it to the dealer right now.

Thank you JagV8. I thought because I saw the 'Sig' message come up once when I was first checking to see what the buttons on the audio panel were (before reading the manual), that perhaps I had just screwed something up and there would be a way to reset the system so that I could try again to pair up my smartphone.
