I have been using the Mannol full synthetic 5w30 recently, the ford spec one.
Also just done an oil change on my neighbours Saab 9-3 , so used this oil also.

I've had my X Type 12 years and every year always put Castrol Magnatec in, this year I saw Mannol on Ebay in the big blue round tubs. I did a lot of research on Mannol, it's made in Germany and I couldn't find any negatives so gave it a go and 9 months on so far so good.

This is what I bought, 7 litres for just £17 on Ebay

I always use Castrol Magnatec in my diesel. Its often on offer at the local supermarket so why not. BUT after 60 years of motoring I think any of the top brands will do! Modern oil is wonderful stuff with years of research behind it. Remember when car engines were worn out at 60,00 miles? Modern engineering has a lot to do with todays fantastic mileage but oil plays an important role. Just stick to a well known brand..

Oil is oil; it's only difference in viscosity, the brands doesn't make your car run better or last longer, been driving for over 40 years with many difference cars of make and models, I always used cheapest oil, your car engine not going to wear out before you replace your car; Only bad oil is the oil you keep in your engine too long and not replace the oil and the filter.
