Did you check your power steering fluid?

By the way - welcome to the forums and post some pictures of your car.

Is the oil clean or dirty? Dirty its probably engine oil... clean sort of honey coloured its probably transmission / transfer case oil... I think many power steering fluids are reddish in colour.
This should give you an idea of where the oil is coming from.

yes they do too, and the oil will be florescent yellowish/green.

hhhhmmmmm very interesting Brutal. I've had a pretty odd oil leak ever since I bought the car. First was the oil pan gasket (classic one right there), but the shop I took it to said that they completely fixed my oil leak and that the remaining drops that I was still seeing where from the A/C compressor.

There is oil dripping off it, but it looks exactly like motor oil. I had no idea about the color of the oil so i've just been laying off my A/C (not the hardest task since it's been in the single digits in VT) .

I've just recently found another shop in my area that works on jag's. Thinking I'm gonna take it there for a second opinion. Have a date with the dealership to get a new key cut as well, thinking about having them do a once over of the whole car seeing as there about 3hrs away and would obviously know the car best.

Now the final question that remains is, where can a get a uncut key online that's not gonna cost me $275 at the dealership? I already know the process for programming the buttons so I would just need them to cut it.

Thanks again,

Mike

you can program the remote, not the key, the key has to be done at the dealers..and take it in for an oil change and ask them about the ol leak when they have it up. I would never charge to tell you what i see and go from there. If it looks like engine oil, it is. Like I said, ac compressor oil is deglo green. theres no mistaking it. But since the lower bolts go into the oil pan they will drip engine oil when the oil pan gasket is leaking, making the not well informed think its the compressor
