Default Oil pan drain plug size?

I tried to do an oil change today. There is a bar just behind the the oil pan that makes it difficult to get to the drain plug.Unfortunately, I now have rounded the drain plug and can't get it off. Anyone know what size the drain plug is? I want to have one on hand before I try again.

Thanks

I don't what the bar is. Its attached to the frame with 2 bolts on each side. I'll see if I can get a picture. I can't find it in the JTIS or the parts list.

I did a search and found out the drain plug is M12 x 1.75.

MRomantik, I am not sure what that bar is, but I would venture to guess that it is aftermarket. TO me it looks like a suspension stiffening piece that is used to tie the two sides of the front frame together. Just to let you know, odds are, that is going to also lead to a big mess when you go to drain the oil as the oil is going to fall on that and splatter everywhere.

Atleast me 03 X-Type does not have that bar. As a side note, you are also missing your scoop for cooling to your transfer case. Not trying to add salt to the wound. Don't worry, a lot of us are missing that scoop. IT is a plastic scoop that if you look at it wrong, it falls off.

Thanks Thermo. I need to take it off to remove the drain plug with a pipe wrench.
I noticed there was not a cooling scoop. I'm not going to worry about that too much.

It gets fairly hot here in the summer. Maybe I should look for one.
