Opinions Please
On a 2003 Jag X Type,,
Standard ceramic pads and drilled premium rotors or premium pads and solid rotors?
If neither, please let me know. I am ordering parts and I can't decide which to go with. We are literally making repairs to sell.
Thanks.

Jaggirl, since you are selling the car, as cheap as you can go. Granted, I know you can get 4 rotors and enough pads to go all the way around the car for around $200. I like my drilled/slotted rotors and ceramic pads. Helped with the braking. But then, it doesn't make a big difference if you are selling the car. Granted, might be fun to go "hang on and watch this" as you jam on the brakes and bring the car to a screaching halt with the new owner in the passenger seat. Might make the difference in selling the car as they have felt the performance of the car.
Usually the addition of such enhancements on cars has a fairly small impact on resale value.
To my knowledge, ceramic pads can squeal and release a lot of brake dust in the bedding-in period (500miles for EBC apparently, I'm having RedStuff pads fitted today actually), while after that they should be silent, dustless and improve the braking noticeably. If a potential customer arrives "too soon" after the new pads have been fitted, the impression may be end up being negative.

Installing new brakes may not increase the resale value, but they'll make it easier to get closer to your asking price...It really doesn't matter if they're aftermarket, stock, etc.
Consider buying your brakes on Ebay. I've bought mine from a company called BrakeMotive, and they're great - zinc plated, slotted and drilled rotors, ceramic pads, fast shipping, and less than $200 for front and rear. They produce noticeably lower dust than the OEM brakes and are quiet.

If you do some research on BrakeMotive on various car forums, you'll see that they have a solid reputation and sell a ton of brakes for all kinds of cars.
