Default Passenger Door Won't Open From Inside

2005 X-Type. The passenger door lock was not locking all the way with FOB or key so I pulled off the door panel to see what I could see. With the door panel off, the cable to the door handle seemed to be moving ok so I put everything back together. Lock seemed to work fine BUT now the door won't open from the inside. The lock is moving so I know the cable is in plaace. The outside door handle opens the door no problem. Any ideas?

Resident X-Type expert Thermo will probably see this question and give you the answer in a couple of sentences.

Meanwhile the JTIS Front Door Lock Actuator section may help. You don't have sufficient posts to download PDF's from the forum so I've put it on my MediaFire account. You can download it from this link:

Free Cloud Storage - MediaFire

The electrical or mechanical connection to the door lock looks a good place to start.

The cable for the inside latch has a cylindrical molded head on it, similar to a bicycle brake cable. You have to make sure the cylindrical head is seating all the way into the receptacle on the inside door handle and rotated so the cable comes out at the appropriate point.

I did the same thing when reassembling a door panel and noticed that when it's not in all the way the door lock will not push in all the way.
