Default Prevent a nightmare "before it happens"

First off want to thank all the vets for there help & the creators of this forum, due to this site I've saved lots of time & money really appreciate it

We'll on my xtype it's running great no codes no serious issues since I purchased it two yr ago - but I've notice in stop & go traffic - or when slowing down then pressing gas the car slips this doesn't happen offtend just resently - on highway she's a beast no issues no slips goes through gears smoothly- I did talk to last owner which said before selling the car to me he did change trans fluid with OEM jaguar trans fluid - & took great care of car him self - I researched this issue & found that this maybe time to change out trans or fluid, very costly - I'm the type that woul like to prevent this from happening - if there's anyone that has any tips on how to prevent or even fix this I would really appreciate it -
•2004 jaguar xtype 3.0
•Gas : Sunoco- ultra 9.3
•Castrol edge full synthetic 5w 30 (change every 4000-5000miles)
•Anti freeze - green fluid - due to last owner already had it in
• spark plus double platinum
Also I did recently filled up the rear differential due to slight leakage

More info please ask I'll be willing to answer any ?

By slips, do you mean there seems to be lag then a jump when you step back on the gas after decelerating? Like something is "sloppy"?

I have an 06 xtype 3.0 as-well with 70,000 MILES. I have only had the car since June and it is my first Jag. I have also experienced it seeming to have some slight lag time or slight hard shifting when down shifting taking a sharp turn at low speeds but not slipping. I have learned to "feather" the pedal when doing so and it doesn't do it at all since I started driving it like this. I very rarely let anyone drive my cat but on the rare occasion I do, it happens to them as well. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue with theirs. I do plan to change the trans fluid as soon as the weather and extremely low temps here in PA break. Please let me know if you get any answers or solutions on this topic. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your Jag as much as i have (so far) lol.

Yea something very similar I've notice this in stop & go traffic I let go off gas then while still moving I press on gas I feel a slip/jump not sure what's causing this - I talked to a couple of shops that deal with European cars by phone - told them my issue they all said changing the fluid might make it worse/ I notice lots of people here in this forum had there fluid change & looks like all is well - I just want to prevent a big issue before it arise

Yeah mine is doing this and I suspected you might be trying to describe the same thing as well. I don't know what is causing it. As far as I know, it was not doing it before I did the engine swap. While I had everything out and on the ground, I replaced the front axles and I suspect I may have developed the problem when I changed out the axles. I did have a HECK of a lot of trouble getting the old right axle off.

My 2004 , 71k miles does something similar too. It's more like a heaviness in stop and go traffic when coming to full stops. I have changed the fluid and continue to drain and refill with fresh transmission fluid every oil change since it is so easy. I think in my case the problem is a fuel delivery issue, or the solenoids in the transmission pan need to be replaced. I am going to start by replacing the 02 sensors on mine to see if that helps and then probably try the solenoids.
