Quarter Window Removal???
Some tweekers smashed out my quarter glass last night. I called an auto glass specialist and they quoted me almost $400 to replace it
I can source the glass for pretty cheap but I have no idea how to remove the old quarter glass. The replacement appears to include the trim also, seems like it all comes out as one unit. If anyone knows how to remove it please let me know.
Thanks

Pat, this procedure is covered in the JTIS. It would take me an hour to make this procedure with pics, so I would recommend just downloading the JTIS from the x type page. It is very helpful for things like this!
Remove the door panel.
Detach the interior trim which goes around the top of the window. (looks like an upside down horseshoe)
Remove the weatherstripping on the inside and outside of the window (stuff at base of window)
Then you remove what is called the window glass aperture seal which is on the top of the door.
With this seal removed, you should see a few rivets above where the top of the main window contacts the door: remove these
Then you remove the bolts holding in the rear glass and you got it made!

I do not know. I just looked in the JTIS and it said to remove the rivets. Downloading the JTIS is simple though and if you plan on owning your car more than a couple months, download it! I didn't download it for almost a year and no I really regret it.
